2002 IEEE CAS Workshop Papers Program (pdf) Originating in Lucerne, Switzerland in June 1998, this is the fifth in the series of IEEE CAS Workshops on Emerging Technologies in Circuits and Systems. In the past, these workshops have emphasized wireless communications, high speed data over local loop and cable, 3rd generation mobile technologies and applications, and ubiquitous wireless communication networks and appliances. This year, the workshop is being co-sponsored by DESCANSO - the Deep Space Communications and Navigation Systems Center of Excellence at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. DESCANSO promotes continued innovative work in many areas for planetary explorations, including wireless ad hoc networks. The workshop intends to gather experts focused on the devices, system methodologies and architectures, algorithms, and protocols that will enable power efficient wireless ad hoc networking. It will run in a single-session format. Submission deadline for 500-word abstracts is July 11, 2002. Dr Charles Elachi, JPL Director, will give the opening address of the workshop. Dr. Andrew Viterbi (Co-founder of Qualcomm) and Prof. Deborah Estrin (UCLA) will give the keynote speeches. A panel discussion on growing commercial interests in wireless ad hoc networks will also be held. Among other planned events is a tour of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory. |
