ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Don Han

Dr. Don Han joined JPL's Navigation and Mission Design Section in 1996. His first mission at JPL was Deep Space 1, for which he served as ground orbit determination team member, and he has also been involved in flight software development, integration, and testing for the autonomous navigation software used onboard DS1. After DS1, he joined the Genesis Navigation team and currently is leading the orbit determination team. He also served as JPL's Navigation team lead for the European Mars Express and Rosetta missions. Dr. Han received a B.S. degree from Seoul National University in Korea, an M.S. degree from Northrop University, and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. All of his degrees are in Aerospace Engineering.
