Charles D. (Chad) Edwards

Dr. Chad Edwards is currently the Chief Telecommunications Engineer for the Mars Exploration Program at JPL. He also holds a joint appointment in the Interplanetary Network Directorate's Architecture, Strategic Planning, and System Engineering Office. He joined JPL in 1984, after obtaining an A.B. degree in physics from Princeton University (Princeton, New Jersey, 1979) and a Ph.D. in physics from California Institute of Technology (Caltech, 1984). Since coming to JPL, he has performed research in the areas of radio metric tracking techniques for astronomy and deep space navigation applications. Also, he has served as manager of the Telecommunications Mission Operations Director (TMOD) Technology Program.
