ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Anthony Mittskus

Anthony Mittskus is the Communications Subsystem Project Element Manager for the Juno spacecraft. Mr. Mittskus holds both a BSEE (1981) and a Masters in Engineering (1982) from California State Polytechnic University (Pomona, California). He started with the Hughes Aircraft Company/Fullerton in 1976 and worked there on several classified programs until 1995. While there, he was lead designer of the Magellan radar transmitter, a JPL radar mission. In 1995, Mr. Mittskus joined JPL where he worked on the Mars Global Surveyor Ka-Band Link Experiment II (KaBLE II), the Mars Exploration Rover (MER) solid-state power amplifiers, the Cloudsat Radar high power amplifier, the Aquarius radar transmitter, and communication transmitters for the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO), the Dawn asteroid mission, and the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL). He is currently working on the GRACE Follow-On program providing the radio link for the GRACE Follow-On gravity mapping experiment of Earth. He is a registered professional engineer (P.E.) in the State of California.
