ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Alexander Mileant

Alexander Mileant, born in Poskana, Rumania, in 1938, received his B.S. and M.S. from the California State University in Los Angeles in 1978 and 1980, respectively. In 1983, he received the engineer's degree in communications from the University of Southern California. Since 1979, he has been working in the Communications Systems and Research Section of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, specializing in digital phase-locked loops; arraying techniques; solar, weather, and interference effects; and coding. Currently he is working on the design of the DSN Prototype Array.
